About the Extra 300L
The Extra 300L is one of the world's premier high-performance aerobatic aircraft. Designed for unlimited competition aerobatics, it combines lightweight composite construction with exceptional strength and responsiveness.
Powered by a modified 400-horsepower Lycoming AEIO-540 engine and equipped with a three-blade Muehlbauer propeller, the Extra 300L delivers explosive vertical performance, rapid acceleration, and precise control authority in every axis.
Its low-wing, tandem-seat design and conventional landing gear provide both aerodynamic efficiency and structural durability, allowing the aircraft to withstand extreme positive and negative G forces during advanced maneuvers.
Built specifically for precision aerobatics, the Extra 300L is capable of gyroscopic tumbles, snap rolls, torque rolls, and high-energy vertical maneuvers that define modern airshow performance.

About the Pilot

Michael Vaknin's passion for flight began at age 18 as a paratrooper, later serving as an airborne instructor. During his four years of service, he performed hundreds of static line jumps and skydives from aircraft including the C-130 and DC-3.
His love for aviation led him to pursue flight training, earning both his commercial pilot and flight instructor certificates. While instructing at local flight schools, Michael logged hundreds of hours helping aspiring pilots achieve their aviation goals.
Michael's journey into aerobatics began shortly after earning his private pilot certificate. A short ride in a ZLIN Z-242 was all it took — he was hooked. Today, he is an active International Aerobatic Club (IAC) competitor and a member of the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS), performing at airshows across the country.
Flying the high-performance Extra 300L, Michael delivers precision, speed, dazzling gyroscopic maneuvers, and intense high-G performance at airshow center. To maintain peak proficiency during contest and airshow seasons, he trains twice daily, five days a week.
Michael currently serves as a commercial pilot with American Airlines, balancing professional aviation with his passion for competitive aerobatics and airshow performance.
