All of this year's sessions have passed. Email washington@pistonsprops.com to arrange your briefing.

Location

Rock County Corps Community Center
514 Sutherland Ave.
Janesville, WI, 53545

Not able to attend? Email washington@pistonsprops.com.

You will be required to watch the presentation and certify that you attended.

Training & safety

To keep everyone safe and organized, all volunteers must complete a short safety orientation:

  • You may attend any one of the sessions listed above, and you choose which one when you sign up.
  • If you cannot attend in person, email washington@pistonsprops.com.
  • You will be required to watch the presentation and certify that you attended.

Completion of either in-person or virtual training is required for all roles.

What volunteers receive

  • Pistons & Props volunteer shirt (worn during your shift unless you're with an approved organized group)
  • Lanyard/credential for identification
  • Meals while on duty:
    • Friday evening: food provided
    • Saturday & Sunday: morning and lunchtime food for on-duty volunteers
  • Water and sports drinks (Gatorade) throughout the event

Shift length & why full days matter

We offer both half-day and full-day shifts. While any help is appreciated, a full-day volunteer is the most helpful:

  • Covering two shifts often removes the need to recruit and train a second person for the same role.
  • Full-day volunteers provide consistency in key areas like parking, gates, kids area, and VIP, which improves the guest experience.

If you're able, please consider signing up for a full day, or two shifts in the same role across two days.

Event admission & minimum shift

To receive event admission benefits:

  • All volunteers must work at least a half-day shift.
  • Friday volunteers: Work Friday evening and receive a pass to come back Saturday or Sunday as a guest.
  • Saturday volunteers: Work a half-day and enjoy the event before or after your shift on Saturday.
  • Sunday volunteers: Those working all day Sunday will check in at the Volunteer Center on Saturday, then report for duty on Sunday.

All volunteers must use Volunteer Parking and check in at the Volunteer Center at the start of their shift to receive shirts, lanyards, and event access.

Volunteer benefits listed apply only to volunteers working scheduled shifts during the Pistons & Props Airshow (August 28–30). Community outreach opportunities, including parades, farmers markets, promotional events, and other off-site volunteer activities, are volunteer service opportunities and do not include volunteer shirts, meals, event admission, or other Airshow volunteer benefits unless specifically stated in the event description.

Why your help matters

Pistons & Props is produced by a local nonprofit and powered by community support. Volunteers:

  • Keep the event safe, welcoming, and organized
  • Make STEAM programs, kids' activities, and veteran recognition possible
  • Help us manage costs so family ticket prices stay more accessible

This event will only succeed with our volunteers. If you're ready to help bring the 2026 Pistons & Props Airshow to life, sign up for one or more shifts and join the crew!
